The client had doubts about the operational reliability of the electrical installation. Although the emergency power generator was tested periodically, a complete 'black building' test had not been performed recently.
By providing insight into both the risks of this test and the condition of the current installation, it was possible to work from a robust business case towards a solid project. The aim was to carry out a fully controlled test, which could be combined with maintenance of the main distribution and the transformers, among other things. Naturally, cooperation was sought with the grid operator. The work plan, the test protocols and the communication with all implementing parties were supervised from A to Z. Then, after evaluation, the knowledge gained was clearly recorded and reported so that it can also be used to tackle similar situations at other locations within the organisation.
